PhotoStory

Today we learned about PhotoStory. I think that PhotoStory is useful for students in several ways. When I do my PhotoStory project I think I am going to do it about my trip two summers ago to Costa Rica for an international dance festival. It was a great learning experience and one of the most memorable summers of my life!
There are probably several ways to incorporate PhotoStory into the classroom, but I think I would use it for a summer vacation project. Since my PhotoStory is about summer vacation, I would show it to the children and then have them each bring in one or two photos to add to the class's summer PhotoStory movie. Once each child added their photo and narrated over their slide, we would watch the PhotoStory in class one day.

Power Point Class or Technology Class?

I took a Technology for Education Majors class at my old school, Santa Fe Community College. It was the worst technology class I have ever had. The whole semester was spent making Power Point presentations or taking quizzes about material from the book on webCT. We never really learned how to utilize any other materials than Power Point, and I'm pretty sure that most people learned how to use Power Point in high school. After two class sessions of EDMD3300 this semester, I have learned more about how to incorporate technology into my classroom than I did in an entire semester in my other technology class.
